The Truth about Balochistan

Balochistan is an integral
part of Pakistan with a history of supporting Resolution of Pakistan-1940,
which envisaged creation of a separate homeland for Muslim majority areas of
sub-continent India. No doubt Baloch leaders and people of Balochistan played a
very vital role in creation of Pakistan and ultimately succeeded under the able
leadership / guidance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and achieved Pakistan
as an independent state.
Balochistan,
the resource rich province of Pakistan has always been an attraction for
international power players. Often these powers have been playing negative role
in planting and nourishing unrest in the province. A small segment of the
society who do not fully represent the people of Balochistan, assisted these powers
and turned the smoke into fire. A
Gallup survey of the UK official body, DFID, conducted on July 20, 2012,
disclosed that the vast majority of the Baloch people oppose the idea of an
independent Balochistan. This survey has proved that some external entities
have been conducting subversive activities in the province by supporting the
minority elements, and are inciting the other Bloch persons for independence of
Balochistan.
The terrorists have stepped up their
terrorist activities following the General EIections-2013. This is evident from
the fact that twelve people were killed and their bodies were dumped within
first week of the elections and five more were killed on the day Dr Abdul Malik
took oath as the Chief Minister (CM) of the province. This indeed is a display
of extreme frustration by the anti- Pakistan forces which were against the
elections and a resultant stability in the Province. In
missing persons case, everyone knows that BLA, BSF militants kidnapped and
killed many innocent people and the security personnel in the province. They
also massacred many persons through suicide attacks, bomb blasts, targeted
killings and sectarian violence. Therefore, they are responsible for dumped
bodies and extrajudicial killings in the province.

The current crises in Balochistan are
centred on two things: first; continuous deprivation and extensive poverty of
the Baloch masses compounded by the lack of economic and social development and
second; lack of national unity and inter-provincial harmony, further fuelled by
external powers through sub-nationalist elements. A cavernous analysis of the
problem leads us to the essence that; the establishment of the writ of the
state is always taken as a threat to the existence of tribal system by Baloch
Sardars.

Today, the people of Balochistan denounce these militant groups and
stand united to fight them. The people of Balochistan only deserve due share in
the power structure of the federation. They must be fully supported to live in
peace and harmony, and continue participating in prosperity and well-being of
Pakistan. Now, the right hour has come that our domestic media must expose
international conspiracy against Balochistan by condemning the activities of anti-Pakistan
countries by exposing its nexus with BSNs
