Pakistan Want Building Bridges with India – PM Nawaz Sharif

Every
country has an unambiguous foreign policy, particularly towards its neighboring
countries in the modern era of renunciation of war, economic development and
peaceful settlement of disputes. When
it comes to India, New Delhi has openly been acting upon an ambivalent approach
which shows its confused policy towards Pakistan.
The
Pakistan PM, currently in the US for the UN General Assembly, said his Pakistan
Muslim League-Nawaz party got a very clear majority in the elections and
“So I think people have really endorsed our policy of building bridges
with India”. Ahead of his meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,
Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif has said his government wants strong relations with
India and that all issues including Kashmir have to be settled through
dialogue.
Indian
External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid said that he believes Pakistani
Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif wanted to make peace and establish good ties with
India. However, with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last month vowing to
go the “extra mile” to make peace with India, Khurshid said Delhi would take
him at his word.
Pakistan
a strong proponent of better ties with India, PM said Pakistan is keen to
promote its trade with India. “We want economic ties getting stronger with
India. Our business community is keen to reach out to their Indian
counterparts”. Pakistan
stands for strong relations and peaceful resolution of all problems with India,
including Kashmir.
