Pakistan – India DGMOs To Meet on Dec 24 2013

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and will continue to play a
responsible role for promoting peace in the world.
PM pledges to resolve all outstanding issues with India as
well. In this regard, the decision to
hold DGMO-level talks was taken by PM Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UN General
Assembly meeting in New York in September 2013.

The initiative for holding DGMO
meeting was moved by Pakistani side to reflect our sincere efforts to pursue
peaceful bilateral relations. This positive step taken by Pakistani side shows
that there is complete harmony at all levels of civil-military leadership to
improve ties with India and India should take the advantage of this without any
discriminatory or doubt and seriously engage in peace process.
The
meeting of two DGMOs was aimed to take
immediate steps to stabilize the volatile situation along the LoC and restore
ceasefire. It is a good step taken from Pakistan side as this shows that both
civil and military administration wanted peace and stability in the region. In
this context, China welcomed holding of a meeting between director Generals
military operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India on 24 Dec 2013. Both Pakistan
and India were important nations in South Asia, said Chinese Foreign Ministry
spokeswoman Hua Chunying, when her attention was drawn towards the media
reports that a meeting of DGMOs of the two countries is slated for December 24
to discuss ways to prevent violation of ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC).
Hua, at a regular press conference
here, said the steps initiated by the two sides especially by Pakistan for
improvement of their relationship would have great significance for the whole
region.
Long
Live Pakistan!
