Pakistan Army Relief Efforts in Awaran Balochistan Earthquake

A powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit southwest Pakistan, Baluchistan on 25 September 2013 which left more than 400 people dead and
countless homeless. Pakistan Army played a key role in relief efforts of Baluchistan district Awaran. Pak Army troops have intensified rescue and relief
operations in the worst earthquake affected areas.
Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps troops rescue and relief operation continues
in the earthquake affected areas of Balochistan. Wounded persons have been
evacuated from different areas of Awaran to District hospital Awaran.
Food items, Medicines and tents have been distributed among the
earthquake affectees. A field medical facility comprising
Doctors and Para- Medics are providing medical treatment to the injured in
Khuzdar and Awaran.
It is heartening to see that despite difficult terrain
and other means of communications creating difficulties, Pakistan Army rescue
teams reaches every tremor hit district and rescue, relief efforts are
underway and medical teams are working in the area. Moreover, people of Pakistan throngs
these designated collection points by Pakistan Army, and depositing relief
goods for their Balochi brothers.
