Make A Wish children meet Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani
KARACHI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on Thursday met six ‘Make A Wish’ children at the Army General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi. The ailing children from different provinces were brought to the GHQ for a meeting with the Army chief.
The children suffer from life threatening medical conditions and wanted to be the soldiers of Pakistan Army, their most cherished wish. Make A Wish Pakistan conveyed their wishes to the Army chief and on his personal initiative, the children were inducted in the army for a day.
Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Athar Abbas and Make A Wish Pakistan founding president Ishtiaq Baig, who thanked the Army chief for granting children’s wish, also attended the meeting. He also said that these children were lucky not only because they became soldiers for a day but also because they met their chief the same day.
